How to sync your iPhone contacts to Yahoo?

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

As we all know, iPhone and Yahoo mail system use very different ways to accumulate contact information, and it’s really difficult to maintain a single list of our contacts which can be shared in between. Then how to sync iPhone contacts to Yahoo? Is there any express way to finish the iPhone contacts sync?

If you go to your Yahoo email box,  you will find that you can only import contacts from other accounts like Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, Outlook, AOL… other than create new contacts manually.

That means first you need another email address, and import your iPhone contacts to this email system, then sync iPhone contacts to Yahoo via this email system. mediAvatar iPhone Contact Transfer is that tool.

How to do the iPhone contacts to Yahoo transfer step by step? Please refer to Sync iPhone contacts to Yahoo.

How to export iPhone contacts to Google, Yahoo, Outlook or other address books?

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

In this article I would use mediAvatar iPhone Contact Transfer as the tool to solve all these problems.

Before we start to import your iPhone contacts to your email address book, first connect your old iPhone to mediavatar iPhone Contact Transfer, then click “Export Contacts to Computer” button below the contact list and export iPhone contacts as .csv or .vCard backup file on your computer.

Here we go.

1. Import iPhone contacts to Google contacts
This is the easiest. Just import the .csv or .vCard backup file from your computer to your Google contact list.

2. Import iPhone contacts to Outlook address book
Outlook does not support .csv format, which is Google’s contact format. So remember to output your iPhone contacts as .vCard file, then in your Outlook, click “File > Import and Export” option from the main menu, then choose “Import a VCARD file (.vcf)” option and click “Next”, choose the VCARD file from the local disk to import iPhone contacts to your Outlook.

3. Import iPhone contacts to Yahoo address book
If you check your Yahoo address book (except for Japanese version), you’ll find that Yahoo address book doesn’t support importing contacts from your computer, meaning you can not import .csv or .vCard file into your Yahoo address book. So for non-Japanese users, we can do this contact transfer in this way:
First import the .csv or .vCard backup file to your Google contact list (if not, then create one), then go to your Yahoo address book, find the import options and choose to import contacts from Google.

4. Import iPhone contacts to other address books
If your email address book supports importing contacts from .vCard file, then use mediAvatar iPhone contact transfer to backup your iPhone contacts to .vCard file then import this file to your email address book.
If your email address book doesn’t support both .csv and .vCard files, but supports importing contacts from Google, Yahoo or Outlook, then first import csv or .vCard file to Google, Yahoo or Outlook, then import contacts from Google, Yahoo or Outlook to your address book.
If your email address book doesn’t support any of the above importing options, then you may have to import your contacts manually or wait for our next version.

How to upload iPhone MOV videos directly to YouTube?

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

Some one asked me this question, and I happen to know the solution, so I’d like to write something about this and share it with anyone who have this question.

To be simple, when you plan to email a video, you’ll notice that the “Upload to YouTube” button is below the email option, anyway I’ll show you how to do it step by step.

Before we start to upload videos to YouTube on iPhone, make sure you have a YouTube account. If not, I suggest you sign up to get an account on YouTube.

Find the video you want to upload on the iPhone, then tap on the box with the arrow coming out of it on the lower left corner, then you’ll see the following options "Email Video", "Send to YouTube" and "Cancel".

Tap on “Send to YouTube” and just like the iPhone reminds you, enter your YouTube account settings and tap on "Sign In".

Okay, here comes to the video description you need to enter, title, description, tags, and category of the video.

Remember, write your description precisely to make your video to be searched easily as the keywords, tags and description are really important for research.

Finished all settigns? Tap on “Publish” on the top right and you’ll rather suddenly be dropped back into your photo gallery without any feedback. However, the video is actually being uploaded to YouTube directly. And after a few moments (or longer), you’ll see a dialog pops up on your iPhone to remind you that your video is published, and ask you whether to view your video on YouTube.

Okay, tap “View on YouTube”, which switches your to the YouTube player app on the your Apple iPhone, which may remind you that the YouTube is still processing your video, but anyway, just wait for a minute, you can view your video.
